There is no Frigate like a Book
To take us Lands away,
Nor any Coursers like a Page
Of prancing Poetry –
This Traverse may the poorest take
Without oppress of Toll
How frugal is the Chariot
That bears the Human soul.
There is no Frigate like a Book, by Emily Dickinson
Photographs of the wonderful Armagh Robinson Library, founded by Archbishop Richard Robinson in 1771.
Wonderful images Robert… what an intriguing place to spend a few hours, days, or even weeks…
What a fabulous set of images ….. thank you. I could just luxuriate in that environment forever.
I admire the way in which the vertical and horizontal shelf mouldings are mitred.
But why a frigate? Did poor Emily not know that frigates were a type of warship and not passenger vessels?
